As more and more people move online for recommendations and research, it’s never been more important for online businesses to have a digital presence and strategy. We are used to marketing agencies and big brands implementing digital strategies, which leads to SMEs thinking that they are too small for it or cannot benefit from it. This cannot be any further from the truth.

Here are three strategies that online businesses can use to improve their online presence and leads.

  1. Local Search Marketing

This is basically making use of websites that have maps and let you drop a pin indicating where your business is located. The biggest and most common of them all is Google. Listing your business here with full details on where you are located, your contacts and a list of services or products that you sell will help Google include your business on search results whenever someone types a keyword related to your business. Not only that, but when you fulfill a customer’s order, they can easily look up the distance between their place and your shop, make a rough estimate of how long it will take for their item to be delivered, helping them to better plan their day.

  1. Content Marketing

Content marketing involves sharing as much information as possible about your product and service to potential customers. This could be through social media posts or blog posts, depending on your most preferred platforms. Content marketing can also involve sharing educational content related to your products. Is there a common but improper way people use your product? Educate them on how to properly use it, then remind them that they could buy the product from you. It is one of the cheapest and easiest strategies to implement.

  1. Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing is broad, and it is not a one-size-fit-all approach. This is because the type of content and target audience could force you towards a particular channel more than the other. However, the basic approach to social media marketing is testing and research. Look into where your audience is, this could be even through asking them in person. Then build a strong profile with as much detail as possible. Finally, implement the content strategy and continue learning and improving.
